Dr. Fredrick Harris (Dr. Fred) grew up in Greenwood, Mississippi. Through experience and some Southern charm, he is relatable regardless of age. He creates a calming environment that leaves him an endearing favorite with children.
Dr. Fred graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry. He then received his Ph.D. in Cancer Biology/Biochemistry from Meharry Medical College specializing in lung cancer research under the guidance of his preceptor the late Pierre Massion, MD. Dr. Fred then continued to pursue his unparalleled passion for helping others and received his dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. From here, a dental philanthropic trip to Uganda, Africa cemented his love for working with children.
Dr. Fred completed a residency program at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville; followed by pediatric specialty training at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Having worked at one of the top 5 busiest trauma hospitals in the nation, Dr. Fred is well prepared for any situation.
In his spare time, Dr. Fred enjoys volunteering, playing blues guitar, traveling to new places, exploring NYC, enjoying spicy foods, working out, watching sports (Vanderbilt and 49ers football, UNC basketball (Go ‘Heels!), and playing tennis.
